The year is 2039.
A robot stands over you with it's arms out to display that it "stuck the landing" as it was programmed to do in order give it more "charm".
Hobbled, you reach for your EMP (electromagnetic pulse) weapon.
"ROT IN HELL, BOSTON DYNAMICS!" screams your wife as she barrels into the robot.
Her distraction gives you the window you need to grab your EMP weapon. You fire and the robot and your wife simultaneously fall limp to the ground.
You scoop your child from the closet and take one last look at your wife's corpse knowing the precious seconds could be the difference between life and death as another robotic assassin won't be far away.
Tears rolling down your cheeks you say "They warned us."
Your child asks "Who warned us?"
