It is just plain freaking cold outside. Take some advice to heart – there are some things that you should avoid leaving in your car at all costs.
- Aerosol Cans – Extreme temperature changes can make them unstable, causing them to burst or explode
- Canned Foods and Drinks – Beverages can expand in their cans, making them susceptible to breakage like the aerosol cans. Canned foods that expand, causing the cans to break, could end up exposed to harmful bacteria. Other foods can be dangerous after being frozen and then thawed and are best thrown out
- Eggs – If an egg freezes, then the shell will crack, and that egg will be no good. Even if it looks fine…pitch it
- Electronics – Electronics that freeze in the car might suffer irreparable damage. You spend too much money on that stuff…take care of it
- Medications – There may be no visual way to tell if a medication has been affected by freezing temperatures, but it’s best for your health to have them replaced if they are…particularly with liquid medications
- Loved Ones – This should really go without saying but leaving friends and family in the car when it’s freezing outside is just bad news. That goes double if they’re a kid or an elderly person
