The only thing the Browns are worse at than football is poker—because few people believed them when they said they had no desire to move Odell Beckham Jr. this offseason.
I mean, why wouldn’t you want to keep a guy on the team who has underachieved on the field and been a complete distraction off of it?
Exactly—which is why it is no surprise that rumors continue to persist that Cleveland might look to trade the Pro Bowl receiverthis offseason.
While nothing concrete has come of this, an ESPN report suggests that the Browns would consider moving OBJif they were “blown away” by an offer.
Statistically, Beckham Jr. was pretty good in his first season with the Browns with 74 receptions for 1,035 yards and four touchdowns—but those did not translate into wins and those four TD’s all came in pretty meaningless situations.
Couple that with the fact that the three-time Pro Bowler struggled finding a connection with inconsistent young quarterback Baker Mayfield in Cleveland and did nothing to make him more consistent, and I think I’d be blown away if any team was dumb enough to make a trade offer for him.
