The stars of HGTV’s “Windy City Rehab” are in trouble with the Windy City itself.
Chicago has indefinitely barred Alison Victoria and Donovan Eckhardt from filing new work permits, so it looks like they won’t be restoring any more homes for now.
The hit HGTV show focuses on restoring vintage, historic homes in Chicago. But according to the Chicago Tribune, Eckhardt’s development company associated with the show has been told by the city’s Department of Buildings they no longer have permit privileges in the city – and they’re suspending the star’s real estate developer and general contractor licenses for a year.
Why? Well, apparently, Eckhardt worked without a permit on 11 different properties… and that’s not all. He’s also accused of failing to comply with safety codes, hiring unlicensed workers, lying on permit applications, and more. The city has reportedly ordered work to stop on all of the properties.
