CHICAGO, IL--- The Guardians would only manage 2 runs, both "driven" in by Josh Bell in a 7-2 loss Wednesday night, I put driven in quotations due to the 2nd Guardians run of the night coming from Josh Bell drawing a bases loaded walk in the 7th inning. The first run would come from a Josh Bell double in the first inning, driving home Steven Kwan.
The White Sox would have another multi home run inning, this coming in the 4th with a line drive home run from Andrew Vaughn and a 2 run shot from Jake Burger. This would be the end of Guardians starter Peyton Battlefield's outing, who only went a little over 4 innings, giving up 9 hits and 5 runs off of 3 homers, which also included a solo home run from Gavin Sheets in the 2nd inning, his second game in a row with a home run. The White Sox continued to pile on the runs throughout the game with RBI singles coming from Yoan Moncada in the 5th and Tim Anderson in the 6th. The Guardians had a great chance to get back in the game in the 7th inning, with former Cleveland Indian Mike Clevenger loading the bases in the 7th, walking Myles Straw and Steven Kwan after David Fry would get his 2nd career MLB hit. He would be pulled after pitching 6 innings, giving up 6 hits and striking out 5 Cleveland batters. The Guardians only managed one run, with Josh Bell drawing a bases loaded walk off of Chicago reliver Reynaldo Lopez, who came into the game already having gave up 6 home runs while sporting a 7.64 ERA with 4 blown saves, tied with Emmanuel Clase for the league lead. The Guardians are batting .145 with bases loaded this year.
The Guardians will stay in "Chi-town" for a day game tomorrow, 2:10 is the first pitch, which will be thrown by Logan T Allen.
