In the 6th inning of what appeared to be a pitcher's duel in Arlington, the Guardians erupted for a 5-run inning to blow the game wide open. Emmanuel Clase was called upon in the 9th inning to shut things down and secure the win, despite loading up the bases Clase was able to tip-toe out of the inning with no harm, securing a 6-2 win over the Rangers.

Cleveland starter Cody Morris gave up one lone run on 4 hits on his way to his first career win in the big leagues. The middle of the Guardians' order stepped up in a big way in the 6th inning, with Naylor, Gonzalez, Gimenez, and Brennan combining for 5 RBI in the inning.

While the Guardians were grinding out a win against the Rangers, the White Sox fell to the Tigers, moving Cleveland's magic number to three games. The first pitch on Saturday evening is set for 7:05 pm ET at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
