Guards Walk Off in 15 Innings, Win 7-6

CLEVELAND, OH--- The Guardians swept the double header against the Twins, winning the second game in 15 innings 7-6. Konnor Pilkington was great to start the game, going 5.2 innings giving up no hits and striking out 6.

Through the first 7 innings it was mostly Guardians, with runs coming from an Oscar Gonzalez RBI double, an Amed Rosario 3 run home run, and another Rosario RBI single. The Twins then exploded in the 8th inning with Gio Urshella hitting a line drive single to center field, that brought in Jose Miranda. Gary Sanchez would then hit a SAC fly, followed by a Nick Gordon 2 run home run. Gordon would also hit a SAC fly in the top of the 13th inning to tie the game again. In the 15th inning, Myles Straw was at 3rd, he was then tagged out by Urshella who caught a line drive hit right to the bag. The Twins finally gave in in the 15th, Jermaine Palacios would bobble a ground ball hit by Amed Rosario that would allow the Guards to win on a walk off error.

The Guardians play at 1:40 Sunday afternoon at Progressive Field, still against the Twins. Cody Morris will be on the mound.
