Could Sum41's Whibley replace Saint Chester Bennington in Linkin Park?

It's been five years since the death of Chester Bennington has silenced Linkin Park but Sum-41's Deryck Wibley was asked if he'd be up to the task.

SUM 41 performed a cover of LINKIN PARK's "Faint" with LP's Mike Shinoda at the 2018 Reeding and Leeds festivals which lead to the questoion if Deryck would consider joinging Linkin Patrk in place of Bennington, who died by suicide in July 2017.

Whibley responded "I think that's an impossible task; I think those are impossible shoes to fill. I don't know if they're ever gonna do anything. I have no idea what that's gonna look like or who that could be. I don't know if I could do that. That is such a non-possibility that it's too weird to even, like, sort of 'joke think' about it. [Laughs] I don't know. I don't know how someone could fill those shoes. I think it would be tough.""

The last time Linkin Park took the stage was in October 2017 at the Hollywood Bowl to pay tribute to their late frontman.
