METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich has hinted that the band is planning to release a new collection of covers.
In the latest issue of Kerrang! magazine, the members of METALLICA were asked a number of fan-submitted questions. Among them was which songs METALLICA would cover if they were going to make "Garage Inc. 2" Ulrich’s reply was short – surprisingly, saying "Wait and see."
Issued in 1998, "Garage Inc." included cover songs, B-side covers, and the "The $5.98 E.P.: Garage Days Re-Revisited", which had gone out of print since its original release in 1987, featuring songs by artists that have influenced METALLICA, including DIAMOND HEAD, DISCHARGE, BLACK SABBATH and MISFITS.
METALLICA is still out on the road supporting, "Hardwired… To Self-Destruct", which came out in November 2016.
