A small Kentucky church is getting worldwide attention after a viral TikTok captured its pastor’s compassion toward a stranger in need. TikToker Nikalie Monroe has been posing as a mother struggling to buy baby formula after her benefits were paused, calling churches to see who would help.
When she reached Pastor Johnny Dunbar of Heritage Hope Church of God, he immediately offered to buy the formula, no questions asked. When Monroe revealed the call was part of an experiment to find and reward kind pastors, he was taken aback. “How much do you need?” he’d asked her, a moment that resonated with millions online.
Since the video’s release, donations have poured into the church’s food pantry from across the world, and the congregation’s Google reviews jumped from 14 to over 500. Dunbar says the experience has proven how powerful one simple “yes” can be.
