A two-year-old girl who went missing in Dorchester, New Hampshire, was found safe thanks to a community search involving nearly 100 volunteers. The child disappeared late Friday afternoon after the gate to her fenced yard opened, allowing her to wander off while playing with her dogs. New Hampshire Fish and Game and State Police coordinated the search effort, which went into the evening hours.

Volunteer rescuer Jeremy Corson and his search dog, Freya, from New England K-9 Search and Rescue, located the toddler in the nearby woods. Corson says the little girl told him she was cold and ready for a bath, and he carried her to safety. She was taken to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center for evaluation before being reunited with her grateful family.

Conservation officer Chris McKee credits the teamwork between volunteers and local agencies for the successful outcome. He says their swift cooperation made all the difference in making sure the girl was safely recovered and returned to her family. Officials say the child was in good spirits when she was found and was happy to see Freya.
