A farmer in Australia spent months growing the perfect engagement surprise. Will Henderson wanted to do something special to ask his girlfriend, Steph Carter, to be his wife. Putting his skills in the field to the test, he planted canola crops in the shape of the words “Will you marry me?” and waited for the yellow plants to grow.
All his hard work paid off on September 6th, when Will took Steph up in a small plane to fly over the field and as she saw the message, he officially popped the question with an engagement ring. Blown away by the gesture, she said “yes!” And that’s a good thing, since Will had another surprise waiting when they landed, with all their closest friends and family there to celebrate with them.
Will admits he had to tell “a few white lies with Steph” along the way, as she usually wants to go on a crop tour of the field, and he had to say no, “which she didn’t like too much.” But the bride-to-be says, “It was really amazing that he put in all that effort,” calling the whole thing “extra special.” Now the couple is planning to tie the knot in 2027, on the farm, naturally.
