Man’s Dying Wish To Shower Streets With Cash From Helicopter Comes True

Last Friday, a helicopter dropped thousands of dollars over the streets of East Detroit to fulfill the final wish of a local car wash owner. The man, who’d recently passed away from Alzheimer’s disease, wanted to express his love for the community by literally showering them with money. The event took place on the same day as his funeral.

An employee at a nearby business says the street was briefly shut down while drivers and pedestrians rushed to collect the falling bills. Despite the excitement and crowds, she claims that the atmosphere was calm and positive, saying “There was no fighting, none of that. It was really beautiful.”

Anaya Toney, who works at a nearby restaurant, describes the moment as chaotic but uplifting, with all lanes of traffic coming to a stop. Witnesses say everyone seemed to get a little something from the spontaneous cash drop.
