A rescue dog named Jagger is being hailed as a hero for discovering an unconscious man in a snowy backyard in Watertown, Wisconsin, on Monday morning. His owner, Katey Higgins, was taking him to her parents’ house when he suddenly started barking toward the far back corner of the yard. When Higgins and her parents went to investigate, they were shocked to find a man lying in the snow between the bushes and the back of the house.
At first, they weren’t sure if the man was alive, but when Jagger continued barking, he moved his head slightly. Seeing this, Higgins immediately called 911, and first responders arrived quickly to rescue him. The man was suffering from frostbite but is expected to survive, thanks to the pup’s quick instincts and persistence.
Jagger’s actions have made Higgins even more grateful for the dog she adopted from the Watertown Humane Society. She recalls how he was once in a kill shelter in Texas before being rescued and brought to Wisconsin, where she adopted him four years ago. Inspired by Jagger’s heroic act, Higgins donated to the humane society and hopes their story will encourage others to support local shelters and adopt pets in need.
