A stray dog in Istanbul, Turkey, has captured the hearts of people around the world for her act of bringing her seriously ill newborn puppy to a veterinary clinic. Security footage shows the dog, later named "Mom" by clinic staff, braving the rainy streets with her puppy in her mouth. Emir, a veterinary technician at Beylikduzu Alfa Veterinary Clinic, noticed her at the door and immediately brought the puppy inside.
Initially, the clinic staff believed the puppy was dead due to its cold body. Veterinarian Baturalp Dogan and Emir discovered a faint heartbeat and quickly began efforts to save the puppy’s life. They administered an adrenaline shot and used a hair dryer to warm him. As they worked, Mom watched closely, standing near the counter. The pair’s efforts paid off and the puppy was revived.
Mom and the two surviving pups from her litter of six are now recovering under the care of the clinic. Mom is nursing her two surviving pups and the veterinary team is optimistic about their health. People from across the globe are celebrating her instincts and the clinic’s heroic efforts, expressing hope that the family of three will find a loving home.
