Girl Collects 10K Cans Of Play-Doh For Children’s Hospital

When Maggie Mahoney’s older sister was in the hospital being treated for cancer, she remembers how playing with Play-Doh helped give them a sense of normalcy.

The Iowa 8-year-old's sister is now cancer free and she made a goal to collect and donate 10,000 cans of Play-Doh to the hospital where her sister was treated.

It only took one month for her to reach her goal, and earlier this week, she delivered the load of Play-Doh to the oncology department at Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines.

The donation will last the hospital about two years and Maggie is already planning her next act of kindness, collecting and donating Legos to the hospital next year.
