A select number of popular salads sold in stores in more than a dozen states, including in Ohio, has been recalled over a packaging error that puts certain consumers at risk.
Taylor Fresh Foods issued a voluntary recall for a limited number of Trader Joe's Sesame Miso Salad with Salmon due to the potential presence of an undeclared milk allergen after 500 units of the product were "mistakenly packaged" with a packet of parmesan cheese crumbles rather than the crispy onions, according to a recall notice shared April 29 by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. This could cause a serious "adverse reaction" for consumers with a sensitivity or allergy to milk.
The impacted product — which has a UPC o f00773164 and Use By Date of either April 28 or April 29, 2025 — was distributed to Trader Joe's stores in 18 states: Alabama, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Wisconsin. No other products are included in the recall.
Anyone who purchased the affected product and who has a milk allergy is urged to throw it out. As of April 28, there have been no allergic reactions reported in connection to the recall.
