Cleveland City Council is approving new laws regarding local tobacco retailers.

Among the new laws is a requirement that retailers obtain a license for each of their locations in Cleveland. Smoke shops will also have new limitations on where they can operate.

Those shops will not be allowed to do business within two miles of another smoke shop and cannot be within 500 feet of a church, school, playground, park, or library.

The new laws have gone into immediate effect.
