Dallas Cowboys quarterback Cooper Rush is expected to start in his team's Thanksgiving Day (November 28) game against the New York Giants.
Rush was a limited practice participant on Monday (November 24) and Tuesday (November 25), but told NFL Network's Jane Slater that he'll be ready to play despite some knee soreness.
"Talked to #Cowboys QB Cooper Rush today he’s good to go for Thursday despite some knee soreness," Slater wrote on her X account Tuesday.
Rush, 31, who entered the season as the Cowboys' backup, has started the past three games in the absence of franchise quarterback Dak Prescott, who suffered a season-ending hamstring injury during the Cowboys' November 3 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
Rush has gone 1-2 in three starts, throwing for 813 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions on 91 of 149 passing, which included 247 yards and two touchdowns on 24 of 32 passing during Dallas' 34-26 win against the Washington Commanders on Sunday (November 24). The Cowboys' Week 12 win snapped a five-game losing streak, which was their longest since a seven-game losing skid in 2015.
Dallas currently has 17 players listed on its injury report for Week 13, which includes cornerbacks Trevon Diggs and Caelen Carson, tight end Jake Ferguson, linebacker Eric Kendricks, defensive end Marshawn Kneeland, guard Zack Martin, offensive tackle Asim Richards and linebacker Nick Vigil, all of whom were listed as non-participants on Tuesday.
