Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard's 'Stadium Tour' Has Sold 1 Million Tickets

Press Conference With Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard And Poison Announcing 2020 Stadium Tour

Mötley Crüe's reunion tour this summer is already one of the hottest tickets of the year.

The band blew up its "stupid" retirement contract in November and announced 'The Stadium Tour' with co-headliners Def Leppard and special guests Poison and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts.

The tour kicks off in mid-June, yet it has already sold 1 million tickets and grossed $130 million, plus another $5 million just from the VIP sections.

Of the trek's heavy-hitting headliners, Mötley Crüe manager Allen Kovac noted, "One band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and another has one of the biggest rock books ever that was turned into a film and the film was seen by tens of millions."

Upon its release, The Dirt boosted the band's streaming by 300 percent, bringing Mötley Crüe's music to an entire generation of new fans. The soundtrack for the film also included the band's first new studio recordings in years.

Bassist Nikki Sixx said earlier this month that all the band members have been busy dieting and getting in shape for the tour, which recently added a handful more dates.
