WMMS will remember the life and music of Chris Cornell today with two special features. Listen from Noon to 1 PM for a lunch block of songs from Soundgarden, Audioslave, and Temple Of The Dog, as well as his solo material. Then listen at the top and bottom of every hour from 7 PM to Midnight for more music from Chris Cornell.

Soundgarden and Audioslave singer Chris Cornell has died at the age of 52 in Detroit. A representative has called his death "sudden and unexpected" and explained that Cornell's family will be "working closely with the medical examiner to determine the cause."

The powerful, dynamic singer and one the founders of what we know as grunge music, performed to a sold-out crowd Wednesday night at the Fox Theatre in Detroit.

Cornell was staying at MGM Grand in Detroit where he was found dead after the show. Many are now saying Cornell's death was an apparent suicide but official word has not been released.
