Linkin Park remembers Chester Bennington

The surviving members of LINKIN PARK have paid tribute to Chester Bennington on the first anniversary of his death.

The full message reads as follows:

"To our brother Chester,

"It has been a year since your passing — a surreal rotation of grief, heartbreak, refusal, and recognition. And yet it still feels like you are close by, surrounding us with your memory and your light. Your one-of-a-kind spirit has authored an indelible imprint on our hearts — our jokes, our joy, and our tenderness.

"Eternally grateful for the love, life, and creative passion you shared with us and the world. We miss you more than words can express.”

Bennington, who was 41 years old, died of suicide at his Los Angeles home.

Earlier this year, Chester's widow, Talinda who has been a loud advocate in bringing awareness to mental health issues, announced the 320 Changes Direction campaign to educate about mental illness. This was launched through ChangeDirection.org, which points out five signs to be aware of.

The surviving members of Linkin Park took the stage last October for a memorial concert for their fallen bandmate at the Hollywood Bowl, and were joined by many special guests - including Blink-182, Alanis Morissette, members of Korn, Avenged Sevenfold, System of a Down, and others.

In June, Mike Shinoda released his first solo album, "Post Traumatic", with the lyrical content largely drawn from Bennington's passing, and his experience through the mourning process.

Just recently, Shinoda said that he is open to the idea of performing with Linkin Park again, but no plans are in place, as of yet.

Bennington left behind his wife, Talinda, and six children.

Rest In Peace, Chester. You have been an absolute inspiration to me, and your millions of fans.
