U2's Bono and The Edge are showing their support for the people of Ukraine by putting on an impromptu concert in a subway station turned bomb shelter in Ukraine's capital of Kyiv.
Ukraine's President Zelensky asked the pair to perform "“as a show of solidarity with the Ukrainian people,” the band's official Twitter account revealed yesterday (May 8).
They performed hits like “With or Without You,” "Desire" and "Angel of Harlem," as well as a version of Ben E King’s “Stand By Me.” Bono invited Ukrainian singer Taras Topolya and his bandmates from Antytila—who are serving as soldiers amid the invasion—to join in on the latter song.
Bono assured the crowd there was "nowhere in the whole world" he and The Edge, would be than in Kyiv. Take a look at some of their performance below!
