#GoodNews: Missing Boy With Autism Found BY K-9 In Less Than 30 Minutes

Thanks to Florida deputies and their bloodhounds, a three-year-old boy with autism is safe and back home with his family. Audra Hughes says she got a phone call with the most terrifying words a mother can hear, “Your child is missing,” after her son, Aedric, unlocked the deadbolt and escaped while his grandmother was watching him and she went to the bathroom.

Deputies say the tot wandered into the woods behind a neighbor’s house in Pace, a Pensacola suburb. The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office searched the woods and had no luck, so after two hours, they brought in their bloodhounds. "Once the dog hit the ground, it was 28 minutes until we got the child," Sheriff Bob Johnson said.

Aside from some scratches and bug bites, Aedric is okay after his adventure and his family is beyond grateful.
