Guardians Clinch's Division Title With Huge Win Over The Rangers 10-4

ARLINGTON, TX- The Cleveland Guardians come in today's game looking to clinch a playoff breath and their first division title since 2018 as they finish off this series against the Rangers. After 2 scoreless innings, Steven Kwan would hit a single to left field as Tyler Freeman runs in to make the score 1-0. Later in the inning Amed Rosairo reaches on a fielders choices as both Myles Straw and Kwan comes in to score to make it 3-0. Oscar Gonzalez hits a single to bring in Rosairo to make it 4-0 In the bottom of the 4th, Adolis of the Rangers would hit a sac fly to Kwan as Marcus Semien scores to reduce the score to 4-1. The Rangers would bring in another run in the 5th as Josh Smith hit a sac fly to make it 4-2.

In the 6th inning, Gabriel Arias hits a two run RBI triple to extend the lead 6-2. The Guardians were not done scoring, in the 8th inning with the bases loaded and on a full count, Kwan would unload the bases and hit a Grand Slam to increase the lead 10-2. The Rangers would score 2 more runs in the bottom half of the inning as Nathaniel Lowe would bring in Leody Taveras and Marcus Semien to make it 10-4. Final score, 10-4 and the Guardians clinch the division championship their 11th in franchise history.

The Guardians will have an off day to rest and celebrate the division title and playoff berth before coming back home to play the Tampa Rays in a 3 game series.
