Dave Mustaine Hopes For One More Big 4 Show Before Slayer Retires

After Slayer's sudden and unexpected final tour and retirement plans announcement, Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine took to Twitter to express his hopes for "at least one more" Big 4 show, a joint concert from the big names in Thrash metal - Megadeth, Slayer, Metallica, and Anthrax

It's been almost 8 years since the first Big 4 show went down at Sonisphere Festival in Warsaw, Poland, and the Thrash legends would go on to perform 14 shows together, most of them taking place in Europe.

"I hope for at least one more Big 4 Show before the end of Slayer’s final tour," Mustaine said in a tweet. "It just wouldn’t be right. Anyone else with me?"

Slayer teased their final tour with a YouTube video that read "the end of days is near" as their impressive 36-year career flashed by the screen. Many in the heavy metal community we're left completely shocked. The band's most recent album was 2015's Repentless and it is not clear if Slayer is planning another studio album for the final tour.

Metal titans Lamb of God, Behemoth, Anthrax, and Testament will support Slayer on their final tour. Dates have yet to be announced. Watch the announcement video below:
