The Indians won the 1st game of a 7 game stretch against the 2 teams ahead of them in the Central Division on Friday by beating the first place Royals 6-1.

Danny Salazar's start was cut short due to a 45 minute rain delay in the bottom of the 6th, but the 5 innings he did pitch were quality again. He gave up 4 hits and did not allow a run in 5 innings and got his 5th win of the season.

Carlos Santana drove in 3 runs and hit his 22nd HR in the 9th to give the Tribe their final 2 runs. Zach Walters started the scoring for the Indians with a double in 2nd that scored Jason Kipnis to give the Tribe a 1-0 lead that they would not give up.
