Day 10 of Browns Camp was a light practice. No real hitting, but there was some 11 on 11 scrimmages. The highlight of the day was Lebron James making an unexpected appearance. Brian Hoyer did not look good today. He threw 2 interceptions and should have had a 3rd on the 1st play from scrimmage, but Buster Skrine dropped a tipped ball by Tayshaun Gibson.

The Defensive Backs looked the sharpest picking off Hoyer twice. Linebacker Zac Diles got the 1st one as he stepped in front of a quick slant intended for Josh Gordon, and Joe Haden picked off an errant Hoyer throw for the second pick of the day.

Manziel did not do anything spectacular, but has shown improvement going through his progressions and hitting the short check down. Coach Pettine did say that Manziel most likely WILL NOT get any reps with the 1st team on Saturday. Below are other observations from today's practice.

  • 1st RD pick Justin Gilbert did not practice and will be a game time decision for Saturday.
  • Cameron, Dansby, Whitner, and Winn did not practice.
  • Manziel has improved, but still holds the ball to long.
  • WR Charles Johnson had the play of the day with a nice jump ball snag of a Johnny Manziel deep ball down the sideline.
  • 2nd year back Edwin Baker ran hard today.
  • The Browns tend to run more shotgun with Manziel in the game.
