The Browns completed day 14 of Training Camp and the offense moved forward, a little. Brian Hoyer was able to move the ball with the first team offense today and actually had a scoring drive during the 2 minute drill. He found Ben Tate in the flat and Mingo slipped and fell so he walked in.

Manziel did not look as sharp today. His portion of the 2 minute drill stalled at the 30 and he had a couple passes thrown into a crowd. He has started throwing the ball before the WR breaks which is a huge step forward. He also had a beautiful 40 yard dart to Travis Benjamin that went for a score.

Travis Benjamin was the best offensive player on the field today. He did drop the 1st pass from Brian Hoyer, but after that was constantly open and scored a long TD when Johnny Manziel threw a 40 yard laser to Benjamin for the score.

Other notes and observations

  • Haden, Gordon, Bryant, Burleson, Rubin, Berry, Trufant and Paul McQuistan all were held out of practice for either minor injuries or planned days off.
  • Justin Gilbert played with the ones because of Haden's absence.
  • Rookie RB Terrance West is giving Ben Tate a run for the starting spot. He won't start , but will take away some carries.
  • Paul Kruger made a play today. He bull rushed Joe Thomas and put him on his back and would have had a sack if it was game speed.
