(Independence) - WTAM 1100 newsman Tom Moore has joined those who have taken the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, a way to raise awareness of -- and raise money for -- Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.
Tom was challenged by WTAM 1100's Mike Trivisonno, who took the challenge earlier this week. Those who take the Ice Bucket Challenge are supposed to, within 24 hours, dump ice water over their heads, or make a $100 donation to The ALS Association.
After the Ice Bucket Challenge started to be spread around the country by social media, The ALS Association and its chapters say they have received $4 million in donations, compared with the $1.12 million they would have received in the same time period.
Tom is making a donation to ALS, and issued the Ice Bucket Challenge to WTAM newsman Carmen Angelo, Trivisonno show producer Seth Williams, and WTAM program director Ray Davis.
