(Euclid) - A 12-hour standoff in Euclid ended late Sunday night when police entered a home and found a man, who had threatened to harm himself, dead of what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The standoff was on the 1700 block of Kapel Drive in the Indian Hills area south of Euclid Avenue.

Euclid police were first called out about 10 a.m. and told neighbors of the standoff situation to stay in their houses because an armed man was unwilling to come out of his basement.

About 10:45 Sunday night, police went into the home and found the man's body.
