(Cleveland) Nelson Mandela died on Thursday afternoon in his home in Johannesburg after a lengthy battle with lung disease. Mandela was 95 years old. The former president of South Africa touched many lives with his kindness and dignified leadership.

Kenneth Grundy is a Political Science Professor at Case Western Reserve University. He says Mandela will be looked back on in history in the same regard as such great leaders as Abraham Lincoln and Mahatma Ghandi. "You know what happens to heroes like that, they're reputation grows as we move away from them, and deservedly so."

Grundy had been to South Africa several times but had never met Mandela. He says as President of South Africa, Mandela was a fantastic model of patience, integrity, and leadership that are very rare in world affairs.
