(Cleveland) – The Ariel Castro kidnapping case was the second high-profile Cleveland area case that dealt with women being taken.
Anthony Sowell is on death row for killing 11 women and hiding their bodies in and around his home on Cleveland’s Imperial Ave.
A group known as the Imperial Women has released a statement about Castro’s apparent suicide.
"While we would not condone any malfeasance around Mr. Castro's death, and to date that does not seem to be the case, and while we certainly believe that life is worth living, we hope he rots in hell," say Kathy Wray Coleman, who leads the Imperial Women activist group.
Wray say she "is pleased that Mr. Castro has moved on to a better place for himself."
