(Cleveland)- The safest hospitals in northeast Ohio are not the ones you might expect.

"Consumer Reports" hospital mortality ratings gives the highest scores in Ohio to Lutheran Hospital in Cleveland and St. John Medical Center in Westlake.

University Hospitals, the Cleveland Clinic and MetroHealth Medical Center lag well behind.

The magazine based its scores on the likelihood of a patient's death from heart attacks, pneumonia or in surgery.  Get breaking news sent to your mobile phone.Text "news" to 21095.
